SWEDFNTK4: TK4 Tre Kronor, Black Zytel

Fallkniven

Elegant, modern folding knives

The folding knives in the Tre Kronor series are lightweight, safe and beautiful. This model features a rugged and trusty Elmax blade with a gorgeous satin finish.

The size of the folding knives is adapted for active everyday use; and if a larger or stronger knife is needed, we recommend either of Fallkniven's sheath knives TK1 or TK2.

Tre Kronor #4

TK4 is a workhorse with clean lines that combines lightness with strength. The slim handle in rigid composite material is both lightweight and strong, and completely resistant to corrosion and solvents. With nail nicks in both sides of the blade, the knife is completely symmetrical and as easy to handle for both left-handed and right-handed users. The well-proven locking mechanism fixes the blade securely in its open position.

Great knife - one nit to pick
This is a VERY good EDC folder. LIght, strong, very good (Elmax) steel, lockback for safety, and a good, useful 2.75" drop point blade. I'm a "utility first" guy, so I wish Fallkniven had not put the decorative etching on the blade, and, less importantly, I wish they had not put the decorative medallions on the scales. That's the only nit I have to pick. Not cheap, but worth every penny. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Weight, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
As I will use my TK4 around salt water (sailing and kayaking) I needed a good quality stainless steel blade. I understand that the 3G steel is highly anti-corrosive so I hope it lasts longer than other cheaper knives I've owned. I like the unobtrusive pouch as I can ware the blade and not be aware of it on my belt. Easier one-handed opening would be good but it my loosen up after some use. Great knife so far.

Cons: Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material
A light, sharp knife.
The 3G steel is amazing and extremely sharp and should stay that way with it hardness rating. The handle is lighter than I would have liked and I should have gotten the wooden handle but this handle is very functional.
