There's no question that the knife is aesthetically bad-a**, with its aggressive juts, points & curves all over the place. Evocative as it is, however, it won't serve any legitimate purpose unless you're making a film, or using it to impress teenage boys. Its tactical viability is impaired by all that unnecessary sculpting in both handle and blade, and it has no daily labor utility at all. The single edge (the best tactical karambits have a sharp edge on top, too) is ground adequately well, but it is probably the best edge you'll ever see on it. The budget 5Cr15MoV steel is pretty limiting in my experience. It does not hold an edge very long. The soft-ish, sort of stringy steel is pretty easy to sharpen under normal circumstances, but look at the shape of the blade. You probably will not find sharpening it that easy. The weight and balance are okay, but it is not nearly as nice & nimble as a simple "naked" karambit. Your flips and twirls won't be as fluid, even if they appear more intimidating. The look of the knife is very striking, and the construction is rock solid. But I cannot recommend it, especially for your first karambit.
