A Very Nice Gift
What surprised me: it's bigger than I expected. I was thinking of keeping it in my pocket, but it would lead to too many poor taste jokes....What I like: very sharp blade; the saw seems WAY more robust than I expected. Can opener/bottle opener are probably my most used functions. Corkscrew. I like having it because...well because wine bottles don't open themselves! And, the wood handle feels great. It's a SAK that feels like a solid bushcrafting tool. (That's as good of a compliment as I know)Why this model: okay, I'm a little weird: I despise having scissors in a multitool. It's my own neurosis, I know, but I just don't like 'em. This has literally everything a multitool (SAK style) should have. All the practical bits. Value: you can get cheaper, but you'll get less. You can spend more, but, you won't gain any functionality that's important by doing so. It's as solid value, but not a steal or a bargain. Worth every penny.Who is it for: if your world is unpredictable, and don't know what the day is going to bring, bring this knife. Good for anyone who spends any time in or near the woods. Handy as anything around the house (for projects). Depending on your work, could be useful. Mostly valuable in social situations to open a can/beer/wine/package. Prep some kindling for the impromptu fire pit. Saw up the 1" branches; whittle the 1/2" branches into feather sticks. Scrape the bark off other kinding. Scrape the back of birch bark for added flammability.
