Ultimate whitetail hunting knife
When I first saw one of these Hunter model knives, I was intrigued. I wound up buying one when I saw how very sharp it was. I was a seasoned whitetail hunter and was pretty selective of my hunting knife. I really liked this one even before I used it. The size fits my hand perfectly. The blade is perfectly sized for removing the rectum . The length and width of the blade fits that tunnel without being too long to reach the bladder or intestines. The saw blade makes fast work of the haitch bone and the short curved gutting blade unzips the belly very smoothly. The fact that it is stainless makes cleaning it very easy. I have used this knife for twenty + years. I bought a backup but doubt that I will ever use it. I have only ever needed a set of crock sticks to keep the blade razor sharp. And I have bought three more for gifts. This ad said something about a new way or something to that effect but it’s not. This very type of knife was extremely popular in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. If you are lucky to find an original one, it will cost you over $300. I have seen new hunters carrying bayonets to field dress deer but it’s hard to dissuade them. Fellow hunters know that the worst thing you can do is to hack away at your deer with a long bladed dull knife. Puncturing bladder or intestines is to be avoided at all costs. I love this knife. Just wish that they would bring back the green handled model. After all of the money we spend on hunting gear, the price of this knife is more than affordable. It is the perfect knife to start with and stay with. Like I said, over 20 years and my first one still looks new. Thanks Victorinox for understanding hunters and our needs.
