The Stout from V Nives is like a folding ARK Always Ready Knife from Spyderco. It nestles into the hand perfectly with a ton of belly that gives you a lot of cutting power in a very compact package. The ergonomics are also spot on, whether or not you chose to use the index finger choil. The action is fast and satisfying while the liner lock, providing solid lockup, is easy to get to and disengage. The rubber inlays on the aluminum handle provide excellent traction for your fingertips if you decide to use this knife in a hunting or skinning role. Our favorite thing about this knife though, besides the action and ergonomics, is the pivot. It's the V Nives logo, which isn't readily apparent, but it is absolutely awesome. It's small details like this that transform a production knife into a special knife and we highly recommend the Stout as your next everyday carry purchase.
Each knife ships in a V Nives plastic case that should be kept and put to another use. It's made from tough, water-resistant plastic that displays the passion and attention to detail the V Nives family has for their craft.

Most V-Knives reviews for certain other models are not too good. I wanted to buy a different model to see if it was a brand specific issue.This knife has none of the flaws of the other knives. It has smooth action (it's not a flipper but there's no tightness or resistance.) It opens and closes smoothly and cleanly. The length of the blade and the choil make this a great option for tough AND precise handling. The 8cr13mov steel is adequately sharp for this knife, and in my experience makes for an easy sharpening steel even as a beginner.This is a great knife, and I was not expecting it to be. Call me pleasantly surprised. I urge anyone with previous negative reviews of this company to give this model a shot.
