The Woodman’s Pal is a brush axe/machete that can perform the tasks of many tools including machetes, axes, hatchets, pruning saws, pruning shears, pruning knives, bow saws, loppers, Bowie knives and for certain jobs, even chain saws. It allows you to trim, prune, blaze trails, brush out lines, remove unwanted growth and build duck blinds.
Designed in 1941 in Pennsylvania by Artist and Engineer, Frederick Ehrsam of Victor Tool Company, these unique high quality tools continue to be made in Pennsylvania, with only USA made raw materials.
These All-American tools are made of the high grade American carbon steel and the best American ash wood by dedicated Pennsylvania craftsmen, and those craftsmen’s precision and attention to detail are testaments of their commitment to Woodman's Pal's USA Pride: Build it once, build it right.
Today, the Woodman’s Pal is still praised by forest and land managers, surveyors, campers, hikers, hunters, soldiers, handymen, scouts, fishermen, gardeners and any outdoorsman or woman.
1075 Carbon Steel
Unalloyed carbon steel known for its remarkable toughness. Often found on larger chopping and impact tools, such as machetes and axes.
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.

Fine product very pleased with weight and functionality. I use it for a variety of clearing chores on the farm. Performs well in all rolls particulary clearing vines and small to medium sized bushes / trees from fence rows and waterways. have not been let down or disappointed yet.

Very Sturdy
Just inherited my grandpa's, it's a real tough machete. The blade is nice thick and sturdy, and while this one is pretty torn up, the blade still sharpened up quite nicely. The only thing I don't like about it is the handle seems a little clunky. Newer ones may have a slightly more ergonomic handle, but my 40+ year old one isn't the most comfortable thing to hold. Still a great tool.

This was a Christmas present for my son -- he specified this item. When he opened it, he was very excited. The woodman's pal will be used when he goes on a camping/hiking trip in the spring.I did not order a sheath -- I wish that I would have but I didn't know.
