Bastinelli Creations

Coming on the heels of the Picoeur, PiKa, and Spade backup neck knives, the Anomaly is the correct name for this design as it totally deviates from the norm. Like the Spyderco P'Kal, a hawkbill blade shape in a reverse grip is meant to deliver maximum devastation with minimal effort. The grip is the same as the Spade design, contouring to the natural shape of the hand and including a thumb ramp in addition to the jimping for better control. The Kydex sheath promotes a clean, effective reverse grip draw every time, and a pull the dot strap allows for horizontal lower back carry. The Anomaly is ready to be used in an instant and more than a match in a trained user's hands.

Awesome pikal style blade!
Awesome blade if you love pikal style knives . I have no problem with the sheath! Overall If you love bastinelli style then this is awesome. Feels smooth in the hand no rough edges for being all steel

The knife is great, the sheath though...
The knife is easy to wield and fits comfortably in my smaller sized hands and I really appreciate it's minimalist design. After taping the well sharpened edge, I took it to my go to edged weapon specialist to see how to adapt my knowledge of the traditional karambit to a reverse style, which actually was fairly intuitive.HOWEVERThe sheath is garbage. The retention detents in the Kydex are the only things making contact with the knife so are incredibly tight. Think, pinching a spoon handle between your thumb and index finger and your palm just covering the spoon. Because of this, drawing the knife is a 2 handed process. Forget the chintzy strap, there is no way to secure the sheath firmly enough to draw one handed. Only the ring can be grasped and the force required to pull the knife makes it impractical at best to carry behind the back. Eventually the Kydex will wear away enough (as evidenced by the black smudges on the knife after every draw) that it will come out with less effort. I tried heating the Kydex a little but because of the way the sheath is designed there is no happy medium. In summary, knife good, find someone to make a better sheath for you
