BU0112ORS2: 112 Slim Ranger Select, Blaze Orange

Buck Knives

Buck's industry-leading Ranger design is now available in EDC form and priced accordingly. As the 110s and 112s seem to go hand-in-hand, the 112 Slims were developed in conjunction with the 110 Slims as a modern solution for an everyday carry version of the 112 Ranger. With the same functionality as the 112 Ranger, the colorful Slims are truly an EDC option with one hand opening blades and designed for easy carry with a deep carry pocket clip.

A colorful EDC based on an American classic, the 112 Ranger, the 112 Slim possesses the same traditional features but sports a more modern look. The deep carry pocket clip is added based on the overwhelming customer demand and allows for quick and easy access in any situation. With easy one-handed opening, the 420HC stainless steel blade provides supreme edge retention and is finished with Buck's Advanced Edge2x Blade Technology. To decrease the weight and thickness, the heavy bolster and handles are replaced with a lightweight molded nylon while still maintaining the same quality and rigidity of the original 112.

420HC Steel

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance, we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Clip Point Blade

The crescent tip makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides good control for detail work and cutting in tight places. It is also well suited for intentional punctures like new holes in your belt, etc. While the point of the blade is effective for detail work, it's not as strong as the thicker points on drop points and skinners.

Great Knife!
I have owned 112s for over 40 years now and still have a couple from the 80s (Bucklite). This knife's quality is typical BUCK excellence! You can never go wrong with a BUCK. It is my everyday knife.

Wonderful EDC
I work in a low-voltage cable warehouse. I cut box tape, every day. I cut cardboard, rarely. Sometimes, I cut cat6 cable. This knife stays with me, all day, every day. Love it. Perfect handle size and shape. The blade is well centered and the bevels are dead-on. Orange handle is easy to spot. It's not flickable, in the slightest, but it's extremely secure when locked open and never opens by accident. Personally, I really like the broad pocket clip. At $30, I don't worry about losing or abusing it. I bought two, just in case , but I haven't lost a knife since I was a kid. I will, however, occasionally give my pocket knife to a favorite newb Tech that I deem worthy. At this price, it's easy to make it a spontaneous gift, if I'm inclined.

Buck 112 Slim Select
I wore a Buck 112 Ranger in sheath for 8 years in the Army. It was used for many tasks in the field and in garrison. The Buck 112 Ranger Slim Select is a good tool for my knife rotation of EDC gear. I do recognize that it probably is as sturdy as the regular 112 but it does meet the criteria for my daily cutting tasks. The knife has a 3" plain, locking, very sharp blade, light weight handle, back lock. I've read other reviews where there have been issues, but I got a high quality knife. All in all, I enjoy using this knife and recommend it to others..
