Buck 112 Ranger Sport Folding Knife 3" S30V Plain Blade, Black Aluminum Handles with Green Micarta Inlays, Black Cerakote Pocket Clip, Lockback - 13295
Modern and elite, the 112 Ranger Sport is a Pro EDC version of the 112 Ranger. As the famous little brother to the 110. the Ranger Sport possesses many of the traditional features of the classic 112 Ranger, but is more lightweight and constructed via bolt assembly with Torx screws over standard rivet assembly. The Sport also offers a newly designed, deep carry pocket clip. By utilizing an anodized aluminum frame and OD green canvas Micarta handle scales, the 112's weight is reduced without compromising its quality and durability. To provide the ultimate performance, the Ranger Sport boasts a clip point, S30V stainless steel blade with dual thumb studs for easy, one-hand opening.
S30V Steel
S30V offers a supreme combination of edge retention, ductility, hardness, toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. For optimal performance, Buck hardens to a standard Rc 59-61.

a modern take on a renowned classic
I previously owned a classic 112 with finger grooves that I loved, but in order for me to enjoy carrying it I had to add the screw on thumb stud kit and still I wished it had a pocket clip. The Buck 112 Sport has all the classic vibe with the updates I really wanted. The thumb studs are comfortable, not too sharp or pointy, and not too flat for your thumb not to have traction. The deep carry pocket clip is exactly how it should be, with flush recessed screws and a continuous rise (no goose bill). They did not go with the deep carry clip from the slim pro series that had Buck's anvil shape cutout into the clip which I think was an great choice. Another welcome update to the 112 Sport is the torx construction, which makes it tunable and easily disassembled for cleaning. The micarta on-lays are nice and able to be removed with three torx screws each. I look forward to seeing if people make their own on-lays with different materials like G10 and carbon fiber. I was also pleasantly suprised to see an internal stop pin, which i believe must be for keeping the blade from meeting the inside of the backlock.Im really happy with this knife. Mine has no blade play and no lock rock and centering was good out of the box. The edge bezel was even and appears to be polished. The fit and finish is great and what we should expect at the price. I think Buck nailed this one and I am proud to add this excellent US made folder to my collection and rotation.

Woobles in and out of the handle and not centered
I own six other Buck knives, love them all, including my classic Buck Ranger 112, which I've owned for several years. When I saw this new version of the Buck 112 Ranger with the micarta handles, S30V steel and pocket clip I ordered it from another seller because it was out of stock at Knifecenter. I noticed as soon as I deployed my new Buck 112 Sport that the blade wobbled. I called Buck and they said that this was not normal and I ordered a replacement of this knife from the seller I bought it from. The second one that came to me was even worse -- the blade wobbled both when it was deployed and inside the handle of the knife! The blade tip was not center folded inside the handle and almost touched the side of the interior of the handle. I returned the second one and requested a full refund. I was quite shocked and disappointed regarding the poor quality of this 'modern' Buck 112 Sport knife and DO NOT recommend this knife. I can see getting one lemon but two in a row means something is wrong with the design and/or manufacture of the knife! What happened to you Buck?!
