BU0840GRS: 840 Sprint Select Flipper, Green GRN Handle

Buck Knives

Utilizing ball bearing technology, the Buck Sprint Select is designed for smooth and efficient opening with a reduction in friction for rapid blade deployment. A sturdy liner lock secures the blade while in use while the sturdy GRN handles give a secure grip. Available in multiple colors, each Select model utilizes 420HC steel. This knife features a convenient deep carry pocket clip for easy carry.

Drop Point

This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.

One-Handed Opening

Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well.

The steel behind the blades

Buck is a market leader in edge retention thanks to their steel selections and heat treat process pioneered by Paul Bos, whose heat treating system has proven to the best in the business. Each blade is put through a rigorous heat treat process and quality performance test then is tempered to the appropriate Rockwell Hardness through a heating, freezing and reheating system. This process, along with attention to detail through grinding and hand edging, is the foundation of Buck’s Edge2X technology. This gives you longer edge life, ease of resharpening and a blade that will not fail you.

420HC

420HC is Buck’s standard steel with great edge retention and corrosion resistance. This industry standard is easily resharpened. For best performance, Buck hardens to a standard Rc 58-60.

People who carry a knife every day do so for one very important reason – because they use it everyday. The knives they carry must be as reliable as they are functional, designed to perform effortlessly in whatever lifestyle they are part of.

It's a Buck, enough said
Made in the USA - how many knives say that on the blade? I liked this knife so much that I bought the upscale Model 841 with better steel. I took this knife to deer camp last year and somehow lost it in the lodge. So, I bought another. My first Buck was a 112 folder, and I dressed several deer with it. I used another Buck, a 102 sheath knife with an inch broken off the tip and reshaped to 3" on another deer. A 3" blade is about perfect in my opinion. I have many Buck knives and like them all.

Very Good Knife
Ive been carrying this knife in my rear pocket for a month now and can say im pleased with its overall performance. The blade takes an edge extremely well and holds the edge better than one might expect from 420HC. The only potential downside at the moment is that the pocket clip is not reversible, but not a big deal.Great pocket knife.

Another great Buck knife!
My 24th Buck knife and it's a winner. A little stiff opening at first but soon loosened up and now flies open and locks up tightly. Buck's 420HC steel takes a sharp edge and holds it. Knife disappears in my pocket, hardly know it is there. A great investment, glad I made it.
