I honestly really want to like this knife. Great choice for the blade steel, particularly at this price point and while I'm generally not big on tanto blades, this one offers plenty of usable length with nice geometry towards the tip.And though I had high hopes for Case on this one, I'm feeling largely underwhelmed by the execution. Though it feels good in hand, the anodizing does have a cheap look to it. The jimping and texturing on the flipper is present, but cut very shallow, which doesn't seem to afford much more purchase. It would have been great to see some deeper cuts or directional machining here. Initially, contact was minimal at the frame lock, though that does appear to have improved a bit after some cycling. The detent is noticably stiff, especially when closing, though I won't hold that against the knife until I've had some more break-in time.I probably would have overlooked some of these things and walked away happy had it not been for the biggest failure of this knife.... A totally botched pocket clip. The frame is not machined to countersink the clip, and it is equipped with two ridiculously large headed screws attaching it. This makes it pretty difficult to simply clip the knife into your pocket, and I found myself having to use both hands to navigate up and over the two bulbous screw heads. I'm scratching my head wondering how this flaw wasn't picked up by Case, as it would have been pretty easy to fix this during the design and prototype phases. For a knife that I would primarily use for a work EDC, I just can't get past a practically useless pocket clip.Ugh.
