CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they're into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it's honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market.

Designed by Ben Peterson, formerly of the Headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the Banter is named for the video series that he helped pioneer during his time there. Even years after he's been gone, the quality he brought to their videos remains. The Banter was his collaboration with We Knives drawing inspiration from other folding knives with the sole aim at being the perfect EDC piece. We think Ben succeeded and this knife was an impressive tool that hits a lot of marks right on the nose. Now it's available in a mini version, made by We's sister company to bring more value to this awesome design.

First and foremost, the Baby Banter is an ideal size for everyday carry. The 2.34" blade is housed in a compact handle so the overall length is just a hair under five-and-a-half inches. The wide base gives you ample room to grip and places the cutting surface right next to the fingers for more leverage. It's a simple shape with simple G10 and stainless steel liner construction but what it lacks in design aesthetics it more than makes up in terms of ergonomics and strength. It's comfortable, solid, and it just flat out gets the job done. Dual thumb studs allow multiple opening methods but the deep-carry pocket clip is set up for tip-up, right and left-hand carry. The jimping on the thumb ramp is ultra-functional and the lanyard hole is large enough for 550-paracord. Ben thought of everything on the Baby Banter and we welcome it as a small yet strong force to be reckoned with in the growing realm of EDC knives.

Quality, Multi-Purpose Knife
This knife came in a small taco-like zip pouch with a cleaning cloth, a warranty card and some decals. Overall, I like its appearance, weight and feel. It comes with a razor edge and is easy to touch up and keep that way. Honestly, I mainly use it for mail and packages, and if you keep it close you'll find 100 more uses. So convenient. Sturdy clip but I usually just drop it in a pocket. Easy to palm and open one-handed. This knife also makes an excellent gift! I think anyone would be pleased to receive it.

Baby Banter, OUTSTANDING!
Great size, very good steel, perfect feel and weight, well put together, as you would expect from the Civivi brand. When 96 people on one site collectively rated this knife 4.8 out of 5, it was enough for me to purchase one. The only real negatives were the clip was to tight, I fixed that, the other was the liner lock being to shallow, I did not feel that was an issue. I give it a 5. To sum it up, great size, nitro-v is a very good steel if heat treated correctly and IMHO Civivi does it right. I have other Civivies and they to are first rate. Caged ceramic bearing add to the smoothness of opening and closing, my favorite blade shape, a fair price and excellent service from Knifecenter. I am a very satisfied customer.
