CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they're into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it's honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market.

Designed by Ben Peterson, formerly of the Headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the Banter is named for the video series that he helped pioneer during his time there. Even years after he's been gone, the quality he brought to their videos remains. The Banter was his collaboration with We Knives drawing inspiration from other folding knives with the sole aim at being the perfect EDC piece. We think Ben succeeded and this pocket knife was an impressive tool that hit a lot of marks right on the nose. Now it's available in a mini version, made by We's sister company to bring more value to this awesome design.

First and foremost, the Baby Banter 2 is an ideal size for lightweight everyday carry. The 2.34" blade is housed in a compact handle so the overall length is just a hair over five-and-a-half inches. The wide base gives you ample room to grip and places the cutting surface right next to the fingers for more leverage. It's a simple shape with simple G10 and stainless steel liner construction but what it lacks in design aesthetics it more than makes up in terms of ergonomics and strength. It's comfortable, solid, and it just flat out gets the job done. Dual thumb studs allow multiple opening methods but the deep-carry pocket clip is set up for tip-up, right, and left-hand carry. The jimping on the thumb ramp is ultra-functional and the lanyard hole is large enough for 550-paracord. Ben thought of everything on the Baby Banter and we welcome it as a small yet strong force to be reckoned with in the growing realm of EDC knives.

The Baby Banter 2 adds complete ambidexterity to the knife with the reversible pocket clip and self-adjustable Crossbar Lock.

Solid little knife
Had this about a few months now and it’s just a really solid, fun knife. Very well built with nice handle accents, blade steel and a couple classic Swiss Army knife gadgets. I’ve grown up a bit when buying knives but this one will stick around along with my other Civivi, the mini elementum.

Versatile and High-Quality (it's a Civivi after all)!
It shouldn't be hard to believe that adding tweezers and a metal toothpick to a well-designed and proven knife could make it any better but it does. Civivi chose a handsome color scheme and made tasteful additional design choices. What is also noticeable is the high level of machining on the Baby Banter 2. The final finishing of all of the components from the thumb studs, to the crossbar lock, to the pocket clip, to the jimping. They've all been given a final touch before and after assembly. This is another favorite from Civivi, the tweezers and pick take it up a notch. One just has to remember that these two additional tools are always on hand if this knife is in pocket!
