CJRB Cutlery

The CJRB Maximal is a versatile, everyday carry knife designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users. Created by David C. Andersen, the Maximal combines thoughtful design with practical performance, making it a knife that truly "cuts big" despite its compact size. Whether you're a seasoned knife enthusiast or purchasing your first pocket knife, the Maximal offers features that will appeal to everyone:

David collaborated with CJRB, a brand known for its expertise in high-quality manufacturing, to bring this design to life. With the right materials and craftsmanship, the Maximal delivers a premium feel without the premium price tag. This is a knife you can trust to perform in any situation and one you’ll be proud to carry daily. This Maximal comes with a gray G10 handle and ArtisanCutlery's AR-SFII steel, a spray form stainless steel that should match 154CM for edge retention while being even tougher for hard-use applications.

Great alternative to the original Banter
Love this knife. Compact yet a full feeling knife. A cool blue/grey color. Steel edge has held up great to everyday use. I love my Banter as it feels like an assist open due to thumb stud placement. This is the same. Both light weight and dependable. DCA built the perfect EDC for beginners and collectors. Only con would be, why not reassess the pocket clip into the scales? Or better yet wrap it over the top as DCA seems to like this on other knives.

Fantastic Little Knife
I have put this knife through a lot of use on the farm and I've been thoroughly impressed. It has easily withstood my daily work, breezing through cardboard, plant stalks, burlap feed bags, and tougher materials like pumpkin stems.

I'm usually not a fan of crossbar locks, but this one has a more noticeable closed bias than the Benchmades I've had.

The action is very snappy, the blade geometry and overall shape are fantastic. It reminds me of a Hinderer Knives slicer grind, and that's exactly what it does, slices through everything.
It's lightweight, comfortable in the hand, easy to draw and replace in the pocket, and very intuitive to both open and close.

I honestly wasn't super excited when I initially saw the design, but in the hand I've become a big fan.

I've never injured myself closing the knife like the other reviewer, I assume that's a user error because it's very easy to position almost any knife in the hand to avoid injury on the closing action.
