The Colonel Folding Knife is modeled after the LowVZ fixed blade but comes in a more easily and discretely carried configuration. The LowVZ was the outcome of Al Salvitti's 40-year focus on advancing simple and effective tactics, techniques, and tools in the study of combatives that could be used by the highly-trained and the novice practitioner. The patented Colonel Blades design effectively reduced the issue of self-stab during an engagement. This knife gave you increased strike range, force, and frequency while putting the point at the end of every strike. It was highlighted by its ease of use; no drills to remember, no stances or grips to learn...just strike!

The folding adaptation of that specialty combat design will astound you. It was manufactured by FOX Knives in Italy exclusively for Colonel Blades, so you know the quality will be on point. What took us by total surprise was how smooth and crisp the flipping action was. With a different flipper tab than any knife we've ever seen, we were skeptical at first that this would not deploy the blade efficiently and boy were we wrong. The action is spectacular and by far the most enjoyable part of this knife.

Another interesting tactical feature of the Colonel Folding Knife is its push button liner lock mechanism. You might think that you will accidentally unlock the blade during a tactical encounter but we're here to tell you that isn't the case. When the lock is disengaged, the physical button you are using to unlock it is still in the way of the blade closing and you must depress the button to be able to fully close the blade. This might take some getting used to in the beginning but it's a tactical feature you'll be glad to have in a pinch. 

The Colonel Folding Knife features a 3" single edge blade made from N690Co stainless steel for great edge retention and corrosion resistance. It has a TOPSHIELD Military Grade coating - an anti-wear thermosetting single component pigmented coating containing ceramic compounds - and we expect it to wear very well. The textured G10 handle gives you the same tactical grip as the LowVZ and it includes a reversible tip-up pocket clip. In terms of tactical folding blades, this Colonel has no equal.
