Description

CN2014207HC: Cojang Jungle Machete

Condor Tool & Knife

The Cojang Jungle Machete is based on the research into Sumatran designs by Joe Flowers. Interested in the Klewang and Cojang style swords and tools, a replica was finally tracked down from a rare antique dealer in San Francisco. This turn of the century piece was designed for a full tang version. The result is an extremely well-functioning lightweight machete. The field testing came back with excellent results. The Cojang Jungle Machete starts out with a 6 mm tapered blade, 20" long, that thins out to just under 2 mm at the tip with a huge distal taper making it extremely lightweight. Instead of the Horn style blade, Condor opted for a full tang handle that uses the traditional projection at the end of the handle to incorporate an exposed lanyard, while adhering to the aesthetic tradition of this legendary blade.

Best machete I've ever owned, hands down!
As a land surveyor, I've had a LOT of machetes over the past 35 years. NONE come close to this one. This thing slices through the South GA swamps amazingly. Keeps a great edge, and the design is very comfortable, easy to swing, and effective as he** against everything short of fence wire. Cannot go wrong with this one.

Useful yard-work machete
I gravitate to this kind of machete design for yard work. Clearing vines to light chopping. My only criticism of this machete is fairly mild. One of the buttons on the sheath makes for an unexpectedly-snug fit. After a bit of use I imagine the leather will loosen-up a little and it should be fine. The blade comes serviceable, sharp-enough for most machete work, and appears easy to sharpen.
