Condor Tool & Knife

The Vipera Machete is named after the genus Vipera, which includes most old world pit vipers like the Horned Viper. Like those fierce snakes it is named after, the Vipera Machete packs a bite. With a special texture on the blade, this 19.63" chopper can clear a campsite or a pack of predators with ease. The recurve on the 12.81" blade makes this a true slicer. The Vipera comes with a full grain dangler style leather sheath and is made out of the tried and true 1075 high carbon steel.

About the Designer

Joe Flowers is responsible for many of the interesting blade designs throughout the Condor product line. Joe writes for a myriad of magazines and publications, and contributes regularly to the outdoor community, concentrating in woodcraft and primitive living. His knowledge of outdoor gear led to consulting on equipment design and function for many companies. Joe holds a degree in Zoology with a minor in Entomology and researches heavily into all things outdoors. Joe Flowers teaches fitness, martial arts, organizes youth camps, and hosts outdoor skills and survival classes around the US. Joe is an avid naturalist, hunter, fisherman, herpetologist, videographer, beekeeper, knife thrower, guide, and regularly travels internationally in search of knife knowledge and unique animals. You can find Condor on Joe's side when he is deep in the Amazonian rain forest, or high in the deserts of Utah.

Condor Quality
My son got this for me for Father's Day. I was immediately surprised at how light the Vipera is. Also I want to say that the "scales" are not lightly etched on the blade but are actually forged onto it. This feature I thought was very cool. The handle is a little too thin but that is the only thing I can think that could be improved. The Vipera also came very sharp, I actually shaved the hair on my arm straight out of the box. The leather sheath is also very nice,it came very stiff and the snaps have to be worked a little at first but a coat of mink oil and use will fix that issue no problem. Overall I would highly recommend the Condor Vipera to any fellow adventures out there! Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
