CR6135: Robert Carter 6135 Oxcart Assisted Flipper Knife

Columbia River (CRKT)

Strong as an ox, this everyday carry knife won't back down.  Whatever the day throws at you, the Oxcart is built to handle it. This design from Robert Carter features Assisted Opening and a frame lock in a durable stainless steel handle that can take a beating.

Built to be ambidextrous, the Oxcart features a reversible pocket clip for right or left-handed carry. When it's time to go to work, the Assisted Opening mechanism propels the blade into position in the blink of an eye, where it's then held in place by a sturdy frame lock. When opening and closing, the action is extra smooth thanks to IKBS bearings.

The blade is easy to sharpen and takes an edge incredibly well thanks to Japanese AUS-8 steel, which is strong and exceptionally resilient to rust. Weighing in at under 5 ounces, the Oxcart combines that strength with an impressively lightweight build to fit the needs of a true everyday carry folding knife.

How Assisted Opening Works

It's held securely closed in your pocket, but initiate the deployment, and part-way through the rotation the blade swings open at an impressive speed for simple, powerful, one-handed opening.

Features

  • Assisted Opening: Flipper deploys the blade fast
  • Smooth Opening: IKBS ball bearing pivot deploys the blade smooth
  • Easy to Sharpen: high carbon stainless steel blade takes an edge well
  • Ultimate Durability: stainless steel handle withstands hard use
  • Brute Strength: frame lock utilizes a thick lock bar to secure the blade

Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Weight
POOR QUALITY. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...
Nice sharp blade but have not used it yet so ??? on that. Heavy. Blade lock is part of handle makes opening a little bit difficult as my fingers tend to press on it while trying to open blade. Blade can be difficult to open depending on how it's held. Releasing blade from locked position awkward. Pocket clip bends easily and stays bent. Cannot remove pocket clip as there is no allen wrench in the box to take screws out with. (i think it's metric, could not find one to fit the screws.) I'm no knife expert but this feels like junk to me...
