CRKBPR1000: Backpacker Fixed Blade - Black Canvas Micarta

Chris Reeve Knives

The Chris Reeve Backpacker is a lightweight, purpose-built companion for hunters and hikers who need a tool that works as hard as they do without weighing them down. This modern evolution of Chris' iconic 1980s design blends vintage soul with high-performance materials, featuring a drop-point blade and a deep belly for effortless control during skinning or camp chores. The canvas Micarta handles provide a steady, comfortable grip, yet they can be easily removed for a deep clean or when you’re stripping back to the bare essentials for an ultralight trek. Paired with a slim Kydex sheath that secures the blade perfectly with or without the scales, the Backpacker is a razor-sharp, rugged tool that's as ready for a week in the wilderness as it is for a quick task at home.

The fixed blade knife for me.
I’m usually the type to keep looking for the next best thing but honestly this knife killed that urge for me. It’s actually my only fixed blade and I don’t see myself ever needing another one(please restock the Pacific!!). It just handles being my do-it-all so well that there's no point in looking elsewhere. It’s funny because i’m usually pretty picky with my gear, I use a small sebenza 31 for work and that set a really high bar, but this fixed blade totally holds its own. Micarta handles are rugged, magnacut stays sharp, and just feels like a tool that’s actually meant to be used. This is the fixed blade knife for me and it will be yours too if only it were widely available.
