CRKL311620: Large Sebenza 31, Bog Oak Inlays

Chris Reeve Knives

Sebenza means "work" in Zulu and these knives are intended to do just that. Built with handcrafted care at a production level, the Sebenza 31 has earned a worldwide reputation for rock-solid performance and a 'bank vault' feel. Offered with a CPM-MagnaCut hollow-ground blade at 63-64 HRC, the Sebenza 31's blade will retain a sharp edge with easy maintenance. The Sebenza 31 uses the Reeve Integral Lock, which is a lock bar integral to the back handle. Pre-bending at the end of the slot causes the spring to move to the base of the blade, thereby locking the blade open. It was a revolutionary design 31 years ago and through numerous refinements over the years, this is the best Sebenza created thus far.

Inlaid Models

Bridging the gap between hi-tech titanium and the organic feel of natural material is the Sebenza 31 with inlay. Available with a choice of woods, each piece fits exactly into one of two pockets machined into the handle — one on the front and one on the back. For those who prefer all hi-tech, they also offer inlays of black canvas Micarta.

The fit of the inlay into the pocket is to an extremely tight tolerance and the sections are retained with VHB (very high bonding) double-sided tape. The inlays give a contoured feel to the handle and are as attractive as they are functional. A polished CPM-MagnaCut blade and satin finish titanium handles enhance the wood-inlaid Sebenza 31, tumbled blade, and sandblasted handle complete those with Micarta. A gold or silver thumb lug, lanyard tie, and spacer are chosen to coordinate with the color of the inlay.

This version is so beautiful it will never see the ground. All the outstanding features you would expect from Chris Reeve. The finish is flawless and the polished blade in Magnacut is absolutely stunning. The polished handles is something i have never seen on the Sebenza..This was a little more expensive but well woth the investment.
