Cold Steel

When developing the Cold Steel Code 4, the aim was to create an ultra-thin, ultra-light, highly functional utility knife that is a breeze to carry. There is great comfort to be gleaned from knowing you are carrying a good knife, and many of our friends in Law Enforcement talk about how they’re always looking for that one reliable, lightweight blade that can become a permanent part of their everyday loadout. We believe that the Cold Steel Code 4 is destined to become that knife! It won't weigh down your uniform or provide unnecessary bulk. It's a pleasure to carry – so it's always there when you need it! Available in a variety of blade configurations, with ambidextrous pocket clips and thumb studs, each Code 4 features sturdy, hard-anodized gun metal grey 6061 Aluminum handles, the world-renowned Tri-Ad locking mechanism, and high satin polished, razor sharp S35VN blades.

Cold Steel Comes Clean
Please understand that the title of my review refers to this knife only; not LT or the Boys in Brown. I had not had this very long when, one wash day when it eluded the the DEW line interception. (That's Dreadful EDC Washing). It took a while for me to realize what that clunking in the dryer was. It came out crisp and clean without a hint of fluffiness. I've never had a knife that exuded an aroma of morning freshness. It survived my error beautifully. .Personal anecdotes aside, this is a great knife. I am not crazy about smooth metal handles. The Code 4 is tall enough and lacks a mirror polsh on the scales that make this a non-issue for me. It was very sharp OOTB. I have many knives that slice better. This one starts out with a 0.138 blade stock that narrows to 0.035 behind the edge thanks to a hollow grind. The clip lacks the pocket edge destruction potential of many of my other CS Tri-Ad locks. (That's a good thing!) It you want a well built, good EDC, this will do the trick.
