Extrema Ratio

The Dobermann IV Tactical represents the evolution of the first and most classic Extrema Ratio model: the so called K1 Dobermann. The main feature of this model is its heavy structure and extremely versatile capability. Since 1997, the Dobermann knife has undergone significant changes in its look and design, based on the natural evolution of consumer taste and market trends, while still keeping its shape consistent with the original designs. Features a 7.25" Bohler N690 stainless cobalt steel blade with tactical black finish. Black Forprene (NATO MIL-SPEC elastomer) handles and black Cordura belt sheath with leg strap.

Why would you spend this much on a knife? Because the blade geometry, steel quality, fit, finish, and it's usability is unparalleled. N690co steel is lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than just about anything available. The Doberman IV is a real "one that does it all" knife. It's a well balanced fighter, it's a great chopper, it can drill and pry. Lots of belly for slicing and meat processing, tough enough for hard use/wood processing. I went with the Serrated version as there is enough real estate on this blade for the two edges not to cause issues with different cutting tasks. I've picked up a lot of good pieces this past year, but if the wife said "sell em all except one", this would be "the one". Can't recommend this blade enough. Have a knife dealer friend who was shocked at how good this knife feels in the hand and how sturdily & precisely it is built. He liked it so much he ordered one for himself the same day.
