FOXFX500: FKMD 500 Meskwaki Tracker Folding Knife, Green Micarta

Fox Knives

With the folding version of the legendary Tracker, FKMD is offering a huge clasp knife. It is hard to imagine the dimensions and robust construction of this knife without actually holding one in your hand. But the first time you hold it, it is immediately clear that the Meskwaki Tracker is not a toy. The front-heavy blade and the intelligent handle design mean it can be used in a variety of applications, from the carving to finer cutting work and chopping. The lock back can be secured with a secondary safety catch, and the ingenious Cordura sheath allows you to carry the knife open or closed. An impressive knife that can be used both outdoor and tactically where it displays all its versatility and robustness. The 5.43" N690 blade is bead blasted and the ergonomic handle is made from linen micarta.

Pros: Weight, Ease of Opening, Handle Material, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
No, this is a Beast!
I just received this knife today. First of all, right out of the box, this thing is impressive! It was in the sheath open, in the fixed blade position. This knife is big! I extracted it from the sheath and got mesmorized by it's size, weight, massiveness and masculine looks! I've heard many knives discribed as, "A Beast." No, this is a Beast! With the blade extended, this tool feels and balances due to the handle, more like an axe. I kid you not! I can't wait, to put this knive to use. I love the Micarta handle. I have average size hands and I get a seven finger grip on this thing. In this case, big is definitely better! A pocket clip on this thing is a joke, unless you are the biblical Goliath! Pictures do not do this knife justice. You must hold it in your hands as you gaze upon it in awe! There are videos that show this knife batooning through thick branches like a hot knife though butter! You also get 2 sheaths. One is for the locked fix blade position and shorter one for the closed position. Both sheaths attach to become one unit. I will use the shorter folded position one for one of my other large folder knives. Like DCA says, "When I open it, it puts a smile on my face!" If you like large, hard working knives, you'll love this!

Very durable
I use it everyday chopping wood and making kindling as well as everyday stuff. Such as cutting rope and opening letters. The only con i wish it had a pocket clip i carry in my pocket.
