Description

LNTM1MB: TM1 MB Micarta with Black Blade

LionSteel

Following the previous solid SR-1 and TiSpine models, both frame lock folding knives, LionSteel decided to launch a solid knife with lockback. The task was a challenge, considering their decision to use carbon fiber or Micarta for the monolithic one-piece construction of the handle using four-centerline machining stations. The blade is available either satin finished or black. The clip can be fitted on either side of the handle, making this knife totally ambidextrous. The double spring lock back mechanism ensures greater flexibility in the mechanism and improved durability of the locking system.

Each TM1 is fitted with a glass breaker and a tungsten carbide point. To enhance the knife mechanism, it has been supplemented with the IKBS pivot system which envisages ball bearings to facilitate the blade sliding motion. It's much smoother and faster than other knives in this category, which is the beefy, tactical blade. Design by Molletta, the TM1 has a much more ergonomic shape than previous LionSteel models and the blade shape is ideal. For my money, the handle and overall size of the knife is perfection, right in-between the SR-1 and SR-2 models and is made with the same, unflinching quality.

Smooth and solid folder
A wonderful knife.Light and comfortable to hold but solid and tough. Fits my large palm well. Rock solid lock-up but with the smoothest opening ever. Thumbstud opening but a two handed (at least for me) close operation. I have no problem with that at all. Feels tough and durable - a feeling of welt to it, for a folder that is. The close spring is strong and retains the blade in the body very well - no unintentional opening. Not the sharpest knife I own - it's not the best newspaper slicer made :) - but I think that this is due to the blade geometry. It is however sharp and very durable and suitable for many outdoor activities. I love the low unobtrusive carry but for me it's a little big for an EDC pocket knife.I can't think of anything I would change on this knife.
