Morakniv

The Morakniv Amberg Compact is a sleek, purpose-built fixed blade from Mora's Amberg series, designed for those who want a more portable companion for day trips, hiking, fishing, and camping. Built on the same solid construction as the rest of the Amberg lineup but scaled down to a 3" Scandi ground blade in Sandvik stainless steel, the Compact offers good corrosion resistance and an edge that's easy to maintain even in the field. The ground spine is ferro rod compatible, making fire prep straightforward, while the thoughtfully reshaped, flatter handle profile accommodates a wider range of hand sizes and grip styles than Morakniv's traditional designs. Light, well-balanced, and finished in nature-inspired colorways, the Amberg Compact comes with an ambidextrous Click-On sheath that secures with a reliable click-lock and mounts to belts, bags, or compatible accessories. Made in Mora, Sweden with over 135 years of knife-making heritage behind it, the Amberg Compact is a capable, no-fuss outdoor knife for those who want Morakniv quality in a smaller, more pocketable footprint.

The handle is worth it
The handle on these new Amberg knives is perhaps the best knife handle I've ever held. No hotspots, full comfortable four finger grip with room to spare. I can literally use this thing all day long comfortably. No hand soreness, no pain.Great steel, really sharp, all the normal Mora goodness. A bit expensive for Mora, but the handle alone is worth the price IMO. If you use a knife a lot outdoors, you have to try this knife.

Pros: Overall Quality
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Odd sheath choice
The Handle is exactly the same as the normal size Amberg. The Sheath is Exactly the same as the normal size Amberg. The Blade is about an inch shorter than the full size version. Unless you have a 3" blade length limit for fixed blades, I'm not sure what niche this is meant to fill. This is a good knife, don't get me wrong - the handle shape and size are quite comfortable and I like the ambidextrous sheath. I do think they should have provided a compact sheath instead of the full size one. The texture on the handle is very grippy, which is both good and bad. Unlikely to lose your grip on it, but it could cause blisters during extended use - probably best to wear gloves. I think the Eldris is still a better compact Mora.
