Knife is great, plastic straps and caop on packaging not so much
I own over a dozen Mora knives and was very intrigued by the blue and ivory colorway of the new Mora Risberg knife. In person, this knife is a beautiy and as usual has a very sharp blade that all Mora's do and is also very lightweight. And yes the medium gray blue and ivovy colorway is fantastic looking. What I don't like it the packaging. This knife came affixed with a thick plastic molded cap over the pommel, which attached the end of the handle to the plastic sheath. It took me over 5 minutes to cut away with great difficulty the thick plastic and much effort to pry off the molded plastic that was jammed into the hole on the handle. I used scissors, a carbon bladed pocket knife and a Victorinox with a pry tool to cut and pry off the plastic security strap and cap. As a result, my new Mora knife is slightly scratched in two places on the handle, near the plastic security cap. I have no idea what Mora was thinking when they designed this new 'secure packaging'. The thick plastic cap would put toy manufactures to shame. I detracted one star on a otherwise steller item because my new knife has scratches on it because of the terrible plastic strapping and the effort it took to chop and pry off this thick plastic cap and the banding off a $15 knife! I've never seen this plastic straps and cap on my other Mora's and I don't wish dealing with this 'new security' packaging on anyone. If ridiculous and potentially damaging plastic security straps frustrate you, don't buy this knife.
