Excellent
First this is not for me but for a friend that has never used a machete. 18" is too long. 15" would be perfect. Would be for most anyway. Need end heavy, rubber grip, thong hole so you do not slide down blade. This does have handle guard but **** does happen and thongs can be dangerous if it goes flying anyway. Comes back at you with a thong. So being first time I may cut it off for him. All blades this lenght go $200-300 for some reason. This is great price to modify. For work I round end good to dull and square end then first inch or so carefully with bench grinde and water. Much safer especially working next to somebody which I hate and do not do. Hardly use that part anyway. Learned that from somebody who has lots of experience using a machete and trusted no one.

Pros: Handle Material, Overall Quality, Blade Material, Sheath/Scabbard, Materials
Cons: None
Great handle! Really comfortable, grippy & also looks good. Comes with a nice lanyard too. Blade is sturdy & heavy even for the small size. The 1055 carbon steel is VERY durable and will keep an edge even you're hacking through thick brush. Comes moderately sharp, can be easily sharpened to a finer edge if needed. The blade is tip heavy which makes it a little harder to control, but it has more momentum to chop right through heavy brush. The finish on the blade is durable & doesnt scratch easily. The sheath also looks great and the machete fits snugly into it. Excellent performance in the field, would definitely recommend it to anyone for clearing light to heavy brush. For super heavy brush I would use something bigger though. Keep in mind the edge is exposed carbon steel so it may stain ( and rust if not kept oiled).
