The Ascension is Jim's all-time favorite design and after having it in hand, we can see why. This knife has the reach of a full-on tactical blade with the action of a handmade custom, and it's perfect for just about anything. Take it out with you on a hunt, a night on the town, or on a deployment and it will impress you each time you flip it open to use. The long recurve clip point blade is Takefu Super Gold 2 stainless steel which Jim heat-treated to its recommended hardness of 62HRC and it's screaming sharp. The handles feel a bit like a Gerry McGinnis custom with a light springiness to the frame lock and superb ergonomics. For larger or gloved hands this knife excels, however, the flipper tab is a little on the small side for our preferences. Handmade in Flora, Mississippi.
