Solid knife
My dad bought this knife for me right before my first deployment to Iraq. I used it hard for that whole year without a single problem. Rarely had to sharpen it. I carried it on all three of my combat tours, and it is still one of my favorite knives. Coating is mostly worn off, but I think that just makes it look better. Came very sharp. Sheath was good quality, but I did replace it with a hard sheath (a friend sliced the retention strap just by drawing the knife).Highly recommended.

Great knife
The model 1212 is the same as Kabar 1214 (that comes with Kydex glass sheath) but this model comes with the standard leather sheath and that's the only difference. As always you can sharpen these suckers on most anything. Best all around utility knife period.
