Gets the job done
I too I'm a Marine and really like this knife. It is light and very easy to deploy. It's big enough to do the job and light enough to be fast. The steel is easy to sharpen and holds an edge at the same time. And it's a K-Bar.

The Fraternal Twin To The Ka-Bar 1271
I bought this knife for my collection to pair with the 1271 Fighter. This is a fine tactical knife sans the combo edge, but with a very nice Kydex type sheath. It has not yet been tested, so comparison to its combo edged brother cannot be assessed yet, but the lack of the partial serrations would seem to preclude it being as effective a box cutter or tactical knife! I have many of the other BK models, including the BK5, BK7, BK9, BK10, and BK20, and numerous iterations of the original WWII USMC knife, both long and short, and both the Western Tanto and the Modified Version, and the.Big Brother! My Marineness has led me to a strong affinity for Ka-Bars, though due to a uniquely Marine protocal, I carried a Buck 120 in Vietnam in '65 & '66 and own as many Bucks as I do Ka-Bars! My 250+ pc. collection is roughly 50/50 folders and fixed blades, with slipjoints, assisteds, autos and some quality OTFs. I love knives almost as much as Justice Kavanaugh loves beer (and I used to love beer even more than he, but fortunately, I got the note!)Thank you , KnifeCenter and Crew, for all your best service over the years, which I am confident will continue into the future. It took me a while to find you folks, but then, you've got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the Prince! William 'PAPPY' M (AKA: JERZEYBOY)
