The TDI Law Enforcement Knife was designed by an officer with officers in mind.
Benner has trained thousands of law enforcement personnel since founding TDI in 1986. Prior to that time he served as Lieutenant of the Village of Fairfax Police Department, Coordinator of the Drug Abuse Reduction Task Force, and Tactical Field Commander of the Hamilton County Police Association Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.). John has developed courses for raid tactics, tactical weapons instructor schools, defensive tactics and knife programs that are currently taught to law enforcement, military and civilian groups.
The TDI Law Enforcement Knife was designed to be used as a "last option" knife. In extreme close quarters encounters where a suspect is attempting to take an officer's handgun, or the officer cannot access his/her handgun, the TDI Knife is available. Designed as an "off hand" knife that draws like a pistol, the reversible sheath can be worn on either the right or left side of the officer's pant belt.

I have this strapped to the side of my Condor EDC where it falls naturally to hand while walking or otherwise occupied. Great piece of kit and it holds the edge well. The weight and thickness of the blade make it an excellent all rounder.

I carry my TDI as a weak-hand backup to my EDC pistol. The sheath allows for a number of mounting options, and a quick presentation. Additionally the knife may be sheathed with one hand due to sheath design and construction. Handle design and material provide a reasonably nonslip surface even with wet hands. I have other KA-BAR products and find they provide an excellent balance of utility and economy. I found no discernible fault in the TDI and would recommend it to anyone with need for it provided they are trained to employ it properly. Lastly the service and turn around time of KnifeCenter was in a word "awesome". Great products, great service, great prices; what's not to like?
