poor detent
My knife had a poor detent and began to open in my pocket, I did get a minor cut once. I had to toss it.

The Cinder is small enough to attach to your keychain, yet it's still capable of doing most of the tasks you carry a knife for. From opening packages to breaking down boxes, the Cinder's got you covered. What's more, you know the Cinder is built for performance. For one thing, it's designed by Rick Hinderer, well known for the real-world practicality of his knife designs. For another, it's precision manufactured by Kershaw, known for our top-notch fit and finish.
The blade is just 1.4 inches long, but because of the upswept tip, it offers plenty of useful cutting edge. On a knife this small, creating a solid grip is tough. Rick designed the grip so that your hand comes forward past the pivot point, enabling a full three-finger grip on this smaller knife. The handle is faux G10 textured to enhance grip even more; the blade has a stonewashed finish that looks great and hides scratches.
The secure locking liner features cutout embellishments revealed by the design of the handle scale. This design also makes it easier to open this manual-opening blade and easier to unlock the liner lock to close it. The large lanyard hole makes attaching the Cinder to your keychain or pack simple.
And you might have noticed the bottle opener built into the back end. Yeah, we thought you did. It's plenty sturdy and ready to go to work when you are.

Almost perfect, for its purpose
Awesome design. I debated dinging a rating point it for being a bit stiff to one hand open, even though it is very smooth. Plus of that stiffness is it will never open accidentally in your pocket. This is NOT the knife for you if you want a tactical weapon, unless your tactic is to make people laugh to death. I suppose with a high enough skill level, it could be tactical as I find it has a surprisingly secure grip in my medium-large arthritic hands. Blade is surprisingly sturdy for its size and will work for about 90% of daily use applications for a cutting blade. To me, this is the perfect day hikers knife when attached to a mini-carabiner. Plastic grip is light and grippy, and will work for most trail needs, and the big plus..... The bottle opener works extremely well for that after hike beer or kombucha. I have a pile of cheap small bottle opener knifes, and nothing comes close to this one. The only downfall for hiking is I would not want to face a Mtn Lion with this...for that I will continue to carry something more tactical oriented. Another plus is it doesn't cause the "whoooaaa Dude" jump back effect of a flicked out 3.6 inch blade when deployed in public. It is so light and tiny that it is a no brainer to carry it at all times....except the airport....remember to leave it home or check it through at the airport. It would be sad to lose it there in the TSA pile. An ad for the copper handle version first caught my attention, but that one weighs more and more importantly would get scary hot when exposed to High Desert sunshine. Locking liner is average, but not bad for something this small and moderately easy to release, but not accidentally release. I would not hesitate to recommend this knife.

Perfect key chain piece
This little knife is very small but has great leverage and the blade is thick and long enough to b most useful. Sharp and opens easily. Big hands may not like it however....Drops into pocket w a wad of keys very easily,,,,cool Kershaw invention. Very smart
