Description

KS1660GRD: 1660GRD MagnaCut Leek, Red Gradient

Kershaw Knives

Looking for a Leek that won't get lost in the grass? Take a look at this red gradient Leek.

The brilliant red of the anodized aluminum handle is a fade-resistant, scratch-resistant dye that's permanently bonded to the aluminum—so it looks good now, and will continue to look good later. The business end of the knife is a task-ready 3-inch blade of CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel - that's right folks, CPM-MagnaCut on a Leek. This high-performance steel enables Kershaw to make the Leek's blade razor sharp out of the box and helps it hold that edge, too. The modified drop-point/Wharncliffe blade shape makes it a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it excellent piercing and detail work capabilities.

Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, it's easy to open your red gradient Leek with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A simple pull back on the ambidextrous flipper blade protrusion or push outward on the thumb stud and the Leek's blade is ready to go to work. For safety, a locking liner keeps the blade locked open during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks it closed when folded. The pocket clip is reversible for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard.

The red gradient Leek is a slim, easy-to-carry design that gives you plenty of cutting versatility—and good looks.

Features

  • Flipper - May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.
  • SpeedSafe® - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife's steel “liner,” the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.
  • Made In The USA - When you see this on one of the knives, it means it was made in their Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.

Magnacut Leek
The Ken Onion design Leek is the best Kershaw folder. Hollow grind pointy tip. Slim good locks. I bought a magnacut chef knife. Excellent edge retention. After two months thinned behind the edge & made it shaving sharp. This Leek folder I bought too. Edge is decent out of the box. I know because of fine grain structure can make it shaving sharp too. Larrin Thomas magnacut steel is expensive, but worth it. At 129.00 this is a great blade.

Where Have You Been All My Life?
What a pleasure! It was perfectly aligned and keenly sharp right out of the box. The mechanism functions smoothly and solidly, not to mention fast as all get out. The 3" blade is perfect for me as I appreciate a smaller (and lighter) size EDC knife. I couldn't be more pleased with this gem of a knife!
