KS7020: 7020 Highball XL KVT Folding Knife

Kershaw Knives

The Highball returns with an XL version – revamped with additional features and just as classy. The Highball XL opens smoothly with a subtle nail nick and KVT ball bearings. Its handle is comfortable even for larger hands, and the profile is contoured for the index finger. The clip point bladed uses reliable D2 tool steel. Aesthetically, the pivot, pivot screw, and over-travel stop are all anodized with an eye-catching blue. Compared to the original Highball, the pocket clip is now deep-carry, and it can be reversed for right or left carry. For practical everyday carry class, look no further than the Highball XL.

Features

  • Sharp, modern Kershaw folder; XL version of the original Highball
  • D2 high-carbon tool steel is highly wear-resistant, tough, offers excellent edge retention; bead-blasted finish creates a non-reflective, matte look
  • Stainless steel handle matches the blade finish and is contoured for comfort
  • Opens easily with KVT ball-bearing system; nail nick for one or two-handed opening
  • Matching blue-anodized pivot, pivot screw, and over-travel stop; the deep-carry pocket clip is easily reversible for left/right carry

My favorite fidget knife
As other reviews have said this knife can be hard to open sometimes (mine was too) BUT once you break the detent in it is easily opened any way you choose. If you're a fan of the middle finger(also index finger) flick this knife is a dream. Opening with the thumb only (once broken in) opening is slow and deliberate, in a good way. The knife is a good size for most average hands imo. This has quickly become my favorite fidget knife due to the middle finger flip ability.

Pros: Blade Material

Excellent knife
This feels great in the hand! The opening technique I use is to use the thumb and fore finger on opposite sides of the blade. This allows for a very smooth safe grip to allow for a smooth finish of the opening with just the thumb alone. Not a snappy opening but smooth and safe. Just the size and excellent blade design. I like this a lot.

Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Lock Ease of Use
Nice knife but difficult to open.
I knocked off one star due to how difficult it is to open the knife. My Comments•This a is a nice medium size, thin, two-handed folder knife which feels very thin in the hand. This XL is just slightly larger than the standard Highball.•I like the contrasting blue anodized accent colors of the pivot washers, back spacer and frame lock stop. Frame finish matches blade finish.•Blade must be opened with ‘two hands’ or ‘reverse finger flicked’. Wish the blade featured a thumb flick hole or thumb studs to aid in opening. Precise finger placement is required to avoid the frame lock interfering with opening action.•Un-nested, Deep Carry, Folded Stainless Steel pocket clip with Recessed screws. Tip-Up, Right/Left Carry reversible.•Light detents. Blade will not ‘Fall Shut’ but is very smooth.
