Description

LNSR11ABS: SR-11A BS Folding Knife, Black Aluminum

LionSteel

The SR-11 represents the evolution of the historic SR-1 model, winner of the Most Innovative Imported Design at BLADE Show 2010. The additional, improved design features include the flipper opening with ball bearing pivot system - two ball bearings facilitating the opening and closing of the blade - and a tungsten carbide window breaker. Moreover, as its predecessor did, the SR-11 features a Rotoblock system, which blocks the frame in the open position allowing the user to use the design without fear of unlocking the blade, no matter what. The single piece aluminum frame is a unique piece, which is also available in titanium, completely worked with 4-axis machining for additional grip. The replaceable lockbar insert is made of stainless steel in order to avoid wear of the aluminum frame body. The deep carry bayonet style pocket clip is reversible and can be mounted on both sides for ambidextrous tip-up carry. This is an excellent design showing the continuing improvements LionSteel makes to their products to always keep on the cutting edge within the industry.

Excellent large hard use knife!
This knife has an excellent convex grind and came razor sharp. The detent was on the heavier side till it broke in and the frame lock was also heavy at first. LionSteel makes some of the best knives in my opinion and having the sr2 and sr22 I already knew I’d like this larger version. The integral aluminum handle is super comfortable and strong. The black coating has held up to extreme use. The integral frame, the ability to lock the frame in place, the steel lock bar insert, the perfect convex grind and super tough balde steel make this one of the best folders I’ve owned. I’ve batonned countless small logs like it was a fixed blade, it feather sticks like a dream, every edge and corner is smoothed and rounded, the pocket clip is discreet and deep carry and is reversible, the spine of the knife is rounded over so it’s comfortable even after long hours of hard pressure, the swedge can strike a fire steel if needed, and the heat treat on this sleipner steel makes for a very impressive blade with edge retention similar to some of my “super steel” cmp blades. I’m extremely tough on my knives a torture test them beyond what most people will normally do with their knives. I don't continue to use them that hard but initially I’ll do it to know what it’s capable of. I usually go for finger safe locks like crossbar, shark, super, atlas or sometimes button locks, but this is one frame lock I trust due to the robust build and the ability to lock it in place with the roto lock. If you’re looking for a medium large edc folder with amazing design and build quality that is perfect for every day but also can be used as a survival type knife or a tactical blade don’t hesitate to lick this one up. Italian knives are some of the best, especially in fit and finish and design. This is a he** of a deal when you consider the aluminum integral frame lock, the melt into your hand ergo’s, the gorgeous zero convex drop point blade with a rounded spine and polished finish, and the understated etching in the blade and well done pocket clip. It comes with a tool to move the pocket clip, adjust the pivot and the roto lock. Steel lock bar insert is beefy and I imagine this knife lasting generations. There are very few convex blades on the market and even fewer folders. Once you go convex you never go back. The only improvements I could ask for is for an ambi finger safe lock like I mentioned before, the ability to lock it open, and a steel upgrade like magnacut, and adding the new pocket clip design they have where the clip is spring loaded and pulls flush into the handle when not in use. If they could do all that then I think they would have a super hit on their hands. Thinking about knife with all those features and then adding micarta inlays makes me feel tingly.
