MCB300P: B300P Generation 2 Captain Pro

Myerchin

This excellent design for the seaman who wants the absolute finest rigging knife available. Crafted from corrosion proof G10 and German Marine Stainless Steel. The Pro-grade German Marine stainless that we use is comparable to 440C for hardness and edge-holding properties with additional anti-oxidation elements added for the final crafting of our knives. Extreme strength and light weight. The Generation 2 Series features the advanced, springless locking mechanism (securely locks blade, spike, or both) and includes a cordua nylon sheath and pocket clip. Cons: Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, Weight
Now the BF300P
Looks like they moved production to China under the new designation "BF". No country identifiers on the blade. Mine came out of the box with a a loose pivot for the blade producing noticeable wiggle yet sluggish action. I sent the unit back because there were scratches on the blade bolster opposite the clip side. Still an impressive design with more heft than a 2.8" blade would suggest. Marlin Spike is useful for debugging knots and splicing lines.

Terrific quality
Bought this to be an EDC knife and all around utilitarian knife. Build quality is great, especially the grip material. This is my first Myerchin knife -- if this holds up as well as it feels like it will, I may need to check out their other offerings in the future.

Best boat knife you can buy !
I bought one of these after I got out of Coast Guard boot camp in the early nineties and I still have it. It is not just one of the best knives I have, it is one of the best products I have ever bought, period.
