This excellent design for the seaman who wants the absolute finest rigging knife available. Crafted from corrosion proof TITANIUM and German Marine Stainless Steel. The Pro-grade German Marine stainless that we use is comparable to 440C for hardness and edge-holding properties with additional anti-oxidation elements added for the final crafting of our knives. Extreme strength and light weight. The Generation 2 Series features the advanced, springless locking mechanism (securely locks blade, spike, or both) and includes a cordua nylon sheath and pocket clip. Built on the heavy duty BF300 Frame, this is a knife that will easily last a lifetime... or two. Light weight makes it an ideal money clip.

A safe solid knife
I have about 50 maritime knives and 15 of those are different iterations of Myerchin folders. It's one of 2 maritime knives I've found with a lock on the blade and on the marlin spike. The Captain series is a solid knife. Perfect? No, but will it do the job well? Yes. The lanyard loop looks light, but hasn't failed me. The flipper tab, they call the "Assist" because you still have to put some flick into it to get the blade to deploy. Once used to the flick, it's not a problem. Easy to deploy one handed. Every other brand/model I've tried sub $300 is either cheaply built, a slip joint and/or thin blade stock. Myerchin gets a perfect rating based on the state of all the competing models. Good knives and a knife I feel safe handling.

keeping it, but not that impressed
it's a totally fine knife, and the marlinspike+serration combo makes it a keeper, but there are just a lot of little things that keep it from being really special:the inner edges of the titanium scales aren't really knocked down at all, which is especially a problem on the frame lock. it's not the end of the world, but it's not exactly pleasing to the touch either.the flipper tab jimping is a little aggressive, and the tab is a little small for the detent which makes opening require some wrist for me. well no worries, i can adjust the pivot maybe.oh wait, the pivot is free spinning and the backside is blocked by the pocket clip. you can kind of sneak a tool in the cutout, but it just again feels like a miss that they don't just line up.i know the text says these things are tested at sea or whatever and i want to believe them but looking at this lanyard clip i just picture it getting caught on something and wrenching right off. it's just some wire bent to pinch into two little holes.. there's no positive closure to it at all. i'm probably gonna put a string through the pocket clip instead.and as the other reviewer says, it's larger especially when closed than you might expect.so.. yeah. i'm keeping it, but there's just a lot of misses here.

Very nice knife. Feels good in the hand and operates smoothly. Sharp too. Only complaint (my bad) is it's a little bigger than I expected. I should have ordered the smaller one (don't like too much in my pockets). Otherwise very happy with it.
