MKM Maniago Knife Makers

Renowned knife designer Jens Anso takes up his wooden spoon and drawing board and conjures up a full-bodied menu of the finest chef's knives for gourmets with the MKM Prima series. The steak knife is the first choice for perfectly cutting tender steak meat without tearing it. In this version, the MKM Prima steak knife is equipped with a cutting blade made of X50CrMoV15 with a hardness of 55-57 HRC. Typical Anso is a handle made of olive wood, which eliminates the usual conventions in favor of modern, angular lines. Set consisting of two steak knives.

Pros: Construction, Design, Material Quality, Overall Quality, Sharpenability, Sharpness
Cons: Durability
Forgot to stabilize
These steak knives look fantastic and have a great handle shape for the purpose; however, two major points for me.First, the description does not indicate that the olive wood is stabilized and I would expect that after a time they will split. I might be wrong, but I would not risk it.Second, the complexity of construction (see locking folder) does not warrant the cost. I would go $100 for the pair but not $170 especially as not stabilized.
