MNTMK2: MK-2 Cinq 2

Mantis Knives

Mantis Knives describes this item as follows:

The sibling to the first of our Karambit Fighters. Its tanto style blade is a little less intimidating, but no less functional. Just as its two brothers, the MK2 boasts a frame locking mechanism and type-3 hard anodized spacer. The red ellipse, once again, finds its home at the center of this piece, letting the enemy, or whoever happens to be observing know; you own one of the best Karambit designs that money can buy.

I bought this with the intention on using it as an edc utility and defense knife. And upon opening it I loved the style. The weight. And the over all bad a**ness of this knife's appearance. However I recently went to cut some rope with it and found that the blades once sharp edge was more dull than my kindergarten safety scissors. Also the blades wobble drives me crazy. But ... Don't Do It!
For the price, I didn't expect 'too much', but I had this knife about 2 and 1/2 hours, opened it less than 10 times, and it developed blade wobble! I've never, in my life, no matter how Cheap the knife was, had a knife that had blade wobble. I've had P.O.S. 5 dollar, Pakistani flea market knives that were better constructed. I never even knew blade-wobble was a concern before buying this knife.....Stay Away From It.

Pros: Weight, Blade Material, Overall Quality
Cons: Pocket Clip
Due to my state's and city's knife laws i was looking for a knife that could reliably protect me and at the same time keep me legal. The Mantis Karambit is it. This knife is made to be a defensive weapon I would not use this as an every day knife. Pros:-Quality and American Made-fits in my hand and I have larger hand. -Sturdy locking devices-Very cool looking-Good ergonomicsCons:-Pocket clip in wong spot for right handers.- Blade is sharpened on one side. I would really appreciate a dual side blade. Overall this Knife is a great buy, for those looking for protection especially for those in a state or city with restrictive knife laws. It is quality American made product that I am proud to carry
