Cool, almost practical fidgeter's knife
I'm not being sarcastic with "almost practical" - this knife is obviously a bit of a collector's novelty, and a toy to flip and unflip while watching TV/etc. I really like PF's cheaper and practical knives so I wanted to check this out. I've been carrying it around and using it for the only tasks it's capable of: easy everyday slicing. The kind of thing you'd use your keys for if you didn't carry a small knife: tape, letters, sometimes an undeserving paper bag. Let me say that if the idea of this knife appeals to you then definitely pick it up. It is very durable for its size, the frame lock is quite solid too, and I didn't notice any factory flaws. The money is well-spent.I gave it four stars because of two quirks, one obvious and one less so:- This knife is annoying to sharpen, obviously. For the rear of the blade, I had to take the edge of a stone and make inefficient little motions. However it is M390 and not the kind of knife you'd ever put under cutting strain, so I'm sure I won't need to sharpen it often. I wish it were a little keener out of the box... but PF has to pay someone to sit there and do the tedious motions I did for free :) Just be aware.- Here's what I'm really docking a star for: if you don't fully engage the flipper, sometimes the trigger is buried in the body of the knife and there's not really enough space to safely finish deploying the blade. You have to either pull the flat of the steel (without a hole/etc to help) or push the blade itself. This knife is definitely sharp enough to slice your finger or poke your thigh, and too small to reliably flick open, so it's a minor but real safety concern.Still. No big deal that a cool and unconventional knife like this has a wart or two. I'm really glad I picked this one up.
