ESEE Knives

Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. The ESEE-4 is one of the most popular ESEE knives ever made. With its 0.1875" blade thickness, it's the perfect blend between toughness and cutting efficiency all in a small package. If you can only choose one, then the ESEE-4 is the do-all workhorse of the ESEE line. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The 3D machined G10 handles give this knife an improved ergonomic grip over the slab Micarta scales. The ESEE-4 is still a favorite amongst law enforcement and military teams due to its lightweight, thin profile and various sheath options.

Excellent Blade for Town and Country
My wife and I recently started camping and I had only two leathermans and a kabar at the time. Leathermans worked well for basic tasks and so did the Kabar but I wanted something more task specific and can be used for almost any task. The ESEE-4 fits the bill! Nice heft to it and the weight is balanced to right before the hilt. Super sharp out of the box. The only thing I do not like is the sheathe clip. Even with a Hanks 1.5” belt it still tends to have some shifting of the sheathe on the belt. The sheathe is tightly fitting to the ESEE-4 and it has drainage holes which can help if caught out in the rain. Just be sure to keep it oiled and dry and touch the edge up after doing a few tasks at camp or bushcrafting. It holds an edge well but best keep it sharp!
