RCKUKRI: Expat Jaraca Kukri

ESEE Knives

The Expat Jaraca Kukri by ESEE Knives is a powerful, versatile tool that can handle the harshest outdoor challenges just like the South American pit viper it was named after. Whether you need to chop wood, bamboo, clear branches, butcher meat, or slice through tough materials, the Expat Jaraca Kukri will tackle those tasks head-on. As for self-defense, there's no question about how Expat Kukri can be used—just ask the Gurkhas.

The Expat Jaraca delivers more force and leverage than a straight blade, making it ideal for heavy-duty tasks like splitting wood. The blade is made of 1075 High Carbon steel for easy sharpening and flexibility when taking a pounding. The durable Black Traction Powder Coating offers worry-free maintenance and corrosion resistance in harsh environments. The 6mm spine thickness tapers quickly to a flat grind, making it ideal for slicing. The resulting edge is convex, which provides a strong and sturdy edge that resists getting stuck in wood.  The 5-inch handle comes equipped with walnut wood scales that offer a natural feel and a secure grip. The forward and rear guards provide safety and a sense of assurance while swinging. Additional recesses provide extra grip.

WHO IS EXPAT?

Yes, "Expat" is a real person. A trainer, adventurer, world traveler, and a lot of other things mixed in between. While working in some of the more sketchy corners of South America, Expat contacted ESEE in the search for high-quality, worst-case scenario jungle survival training. Thus began a close association that has lasted for over 15 years. Expat has logged thousands of miles throughout the third world, sometimes with the ESEE team, but always with ESEE products. From armored motorcades in Colombia and trekking in the Himalayas, to earthquakes in El Salvador and hunting in the Balkans, ESEE Knives have been a constant companion. He has been a student, a translator, and an instructor for Randall's Adventure Training. Throughout his time overseas, he has developed some unique insights on tools and adventures and is currently working with ESEE to bring these designs and experiences to others. What began with a cleaver will end up... well, who knows? That's the whole point of the Expat Experience.

Pretty good
Will never have another knife shipped through usps again but none the less. Recently brought this because I had lost my OKC kukri while on a hunting trip because it looks exactly the same. I can tell you from using it constantly in my back yard and going hunting and camping that it holds up pretty dang good. I've beaten this thing through through logs to make camp fires and splitting wood for my wood burning stove. Has not bent. Edge has never rolled and the handle is still tight and in place. I don't think you can get much better for the price unless you get a real authentic one which hold up good as well. I have 3 authentic Nepalese ones that I give the same treatment to and they all hold up good. I only brought this one because it looks like the OKC one but I'll tell you I'd buy another. Just wish Knife center or blade HQ would put Authentic kukris on their website because ordering from over seas is a big pain when it comes to ordering just one knife.

Kukri with the best agression forward blade shape !
• This kukri will be used as a multi-tool for Survival and Bush craft uses.• The steel of this kukri blade is perfect. • I was going to buy the premium quality $320 dollar COLD STEEL kukri brand, until I did research on this ESEE kukri. The grip handle is much more comfortable on this ESEE kukri. • I strongly recommend this ESEE for Survival use, camping use and self-defense use.
