ESEE Knives

The Expat Knives El Deguello is a dependable machete designed in collaboration with the Randall's Adventure and Training crowd. Drawing on deep knowledge of South American blades, this machete is built for heavy-duty bushcraft and survival.

The El Deguello features a 12.75" blade crafted from resilient 1075 Carbon Steel with a dark stonewashed finish. The weight-forward design and generous belly ensure efficient chopping, cutting, and clearing of dense brush. The ergonomic handle is made from sleek black Micarta, providing a comfortable and secure grip even in rain-soaked conditions. A brass-lined lanyard hole adds a crucial safety feature. At an overall length of 18.75" and weighing just 19 oz (without the sheath), this machete comes complete with a durable tan canvas sheath. Crafted in El Salvador, the El Deguello ensures you are never under-equipped for the wildest parts of the world.

WHO IS EXPAT?

Yes, "Expat" is a real person. A trainer, adventurer, world traveler and a lot of other things mixed in between. While working in some of the more sketchy corners of South America, Expat contacted ESEE in the search for high-quality, worst case scenario jungle survival training. Thus began a close association that has lasted for over 15 years. Expat has logged thousands of miles throughout the third world, sometimes with the ESEE team, but always with ESEE products. From armored motorcades in Colombia and trekking in the Himalayas, to earthquakes in El Salvador and hunting in the Balkans, ESEE Knives have been a constant companion. He has been a student, a translator, and an instructor for Randall's Adventure Training. Throughout his time overseas, he has developed some unique insights on tools and adventures and is currently working with ESEE to bring these designs and experiences to others. What began with a cleaver will end up... well, who knows? That's the whole point of the Expat Experience.

Esee Perfection
I'm a fan of Esee and Condor knives, the Esee Expat El Deguello doesn't disappoint. Its very sharp OTB, well balanced IMHO for a machete, fits my hand well. I love the micarta hand. I just received it so I have not put it through any critical use yet. The sheath is well made, El Salvador does a nice job with their knives and sheaths, again, in my opinion. I highly recommend this machete.
