One of my favorite knives of all time
This is one of my favorite production knives of all time. I already owned 3 of them, but I didn't have one with blue fat carbon, so I bought it. Now I have one in carbon fiber (I also have black canvas micarta scales that I switched with the carbon fiber), brown burlap micarta (the first release was only in brown burlap micarta & regular carbon fiber - not fat carbon), orange fat carbon, and blue fat carbon. I've always said that I might make some G-Carta scales to put onto one of them. All of them have the detent perfectly dialed which makes it easy pretty front flip with excellent action. Obviously, I highly recommend this knife to everyone. It's an excellent design, no hot spots, I've added timascus pocket clips to all of them, so they look incredible, and, although so many production knife manufacturers have really stepped up their game in the last few years, this is one of those knives that perfectly exemplifies why Reate is the best production knife manufacturer in the world. I'll open mindedly listen to anyone that wants to tell me otherwise, but, all I can say is good luck convincing that they aren't the best. I hope that Reate releases another round of the Tribute front flipper soon because that and the WingManEDC Tom Mayo MTNT Mach 3 Front Flipper (made by Reate) are my favorite production knives of all time. Oh yeah, I also consider the Reate version (second release. The first release was made by Lionsteel) of the UrbanEDC Brad Lundquist Baby Barlow to be right there with these Bushidos, Tributes, and MTNT Mach 3's as my favorite production knives of all time. I can't say which one is my absolute favorite or even which one I've carried and used the most because it's about the same for all four of them, unless I also take into account how many times I've also carried and used the Lionsteel version of the Baby Barlow to the Reate version, the Baby Barlow is the winner, but the Reate version is noticeably better than the Lionsteel Baby Barlows. Obviously I love smaller sized front floors to use as my EDC, so I'll admit that many people won't like all those knives quite as much as I do hahaha. That being said, I have a hard time believing that anyone won't like this knife an awful lot. Even if you aren't great at front flipping, this knife is very easy to front flip although I usually use my index finger and top flip this knife (same with the other 3). Although I'm pretty good at front flipping, I can understand how some people have trouble front flipping knives like the Garrett Bull Shamwari, but this knife is significantly easier to front flip than a Shamwari and this knife is, essentially, just as easy to use your index finger and top flip as any knife with a standard flipper tab. All I'm saying is that if you are worried that you will have problem opening/flipping this knife, give it a try. I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is to flip open this knife and how smooth & good the action is. And, if you haven't had a Reate knife before I think you'll instantly understand why Reate me knives have the praise, acclaim, and respect that they rightfully earned and deserve. So, if you're thinking about buying this knife, DO IT!!! You won't be disappointed!
