SCH1182277: Beta Class Slyte Compact Flipper Knife

Schrade Knives

The Slyte Compact is a member of the Schrade Beta Class. This compact, ultra-thin folder is constructed with all of the same quality materials and design choices as the original in a small package. It has a D2 Wharncliffe blade with a satin finish, Schrade's Ultra Glide technology, stainless steel handles, and a frame lock mechanism. The Slyte is a lightweight everyday carry with no limitations that is so thin you might forget it's there.

In wolf packs, the Beta wolf is the second in command and the heir apparent to the Alpha spot in the pack. The Beta Class of knives at Schrade is no different. This more subtle, yet confident line of knives and tools carries upgraded handle and blade materials (such as D2) designed to outclass its competitors. The Beta class consists of knives and tools made in high-quality factories in countries such as Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and of course, the United States of America.

Nice little Schrade
I bought this because it's a American made Schrade. I thought it would be a little small - it is. Although it's quite manageable. I thought the blade is different from what I usually get - it is. Although it's a very useful blade. I like it plenty and very satisfying with it. It could use thumb studs and maybe some jigging on the back end of the spine of the knife just a person preference. It's sharp and tough and no doubt sturdy. I personally like steel handles so that's not a problem with me. This knife is designed for purpose. It'll be a work horse on any project. I diffidently like Schrade's American made knifes. I have few of the new ones and a few of the old ones. I don't mind some of Schrade's import ones also. On a personal note: as long as the Schrade import is an original design and not a copy of something traditional or classic. They are inexpensive, sharp, have good designs and useful. Those I don't worry so much if they get lost or get broken. So back to this one I recommend this purchase. Like I said it has purpose.
