Description
SP106SBK2: C106SBK2 Tasman Salt 2 Black
Spyderco
Hawkbill blades are uniquely functional cutting tools because they "capture" the material being cut, drawing it into the concave edge to generate powerful, focusing cutting power. The original Tasman Salt combined this aggressive cutting dynamic with the ultra-corrosion-resistant qualities of nitrogen-based H-1 steel to create a near-perfect tool for cutting netting, line, and other fibrous materials. The Tasman 2 takes another significant step forward with an improved handle design based on the best-selling Delica 4. Injection molded from tough yellow or black FRN, the Tasman 2's handle features improved ergonomics, a non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing pattern, and a four-position titanium pocket clip. Its handle is still home to a solid back lock mechanism that securely locks the PlainEdge or SpyderEdge blade when in use.

This can fill a pocket like no other
I’ve had this knife for awhile now. It doesn’t get any pocket time, but I carry it nearly everyday in a Maxpedition EDC bag. The H-1 steel is excellent. Ergonomically, it feels like a Delica in the hand and that’s a good thing. I particularly like the serrations on this. Spyderco does the best serrations. The serrations combined with the hawksbill make this one mean, efficient cutter. If you’ve never done a pull cut with a serrated hawksbill knife, you’ve been missing out on one of knife life’s pure pleasures. The only downside with this knife is that it is WIDE in the pocket. It nearly takes up the space of 2 Delicas clipped side by side. I found that if I carry it in the pocket, I prefer to carry it in the back right pocket tip down. It’s a great knife, but it’s a pocket hog.
