The smallest member of Spyderco’s popular Value Folder series, the Ambitious is an ultra-compact cutting tool that cuts with big-knife authority. In its lightweight configuration, it trades the G10 scales of the original for injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture pattern. Taking that evolution one step further, the Ambitious Lightweight Black Blade cloaks the knife's full-flat-ground 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade in a non-reflective black oxide coating. Consistent with that theme, the handle’s full skeletonized stainless steel liners, four-position pocket clip, and other hardware also sport stealthy black coatings. Available in a choice of either PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge, both configurations feature a sturdy Liner Lock mechanism to lock the blade securely open during use.
8Cr Stainless Steel
One of the most common budget stainless steels, it maintains a competitive combination of edge retention and toughness in its price range.
Zytel Handles
A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.

Great lil knife
I had been interested in getting a Spyderco for a while so I picked this one up on sale. Great, solid feeling knife and though it’s a bit small I’ve found it works perfect for any day to day tasks I’ve thrown at it so far, really couldn’t ask for more at the price point.

I like Spyderco knives as a rule. My issue with this one is the lack of being able to flick it open with the hole. Still a good knife, but I might have chosen something else, if I knew this would be a problem.
