Description

SP243PCBL: C243PCBL Endela Lightweight CPM-SPY27

Spyderco

The perfect intermediate size between the iconic Endura 4 and Delica 4 Lightweights, the Endela proudly offers all the same proven features of each. This version elevates the design even further with a full-flat ground blade crafted from Spyderco's proprietary CPM SPY27 particle metallurgy stainless steel. The high-performance blade is supported by a sturdy back lock mechanism, skeletonized stainless steel liners, and fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales. Proudly showcasing a signature cobalt blue color, the injection-molded scales include their trademark Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure, non-slip grip and a four-position pocket clip that offers a choice of tip-up or tip-down carry on both sides of the body.

Will become my favorite Spyderco yet
The Endela is a great design and size for a knife, between stalwarts Delica and Endura. The fit and finish of the knife is terrific. It feels great in the hand. I have read a lot about the Spy27 steel and believe Spyderco has come up with a very well balanced, high quality steel. Some specifics: - no finger choil. YAY. I am not a fan of the finger choil and prefer a handle that is comfortable and uniform up to before the blade starts while allowing for close work near the pivot. This handle feels great to me. Wish Spyderco would restrain their commitment to finger choils a bit. - this blade is gorgeous. Terrific, useable shape with typically excellent edge geometry (which I believe Spyderco understands better than most other brands) - pocket clip works and in a knife that feels hefty while being light. - lock up is very secure. No wobble and no movement. And, also there are many great lock designs these days, I trust a well built, solid rocker back lock more than most others. I had put off for some time looking into this mode, I had gotten it far sooner. Endela is an excellent design landing in the under 3.5 inch blade category. A sweet spot for many parts of the U.S. in terms of knife laws.
