In close cooperation with Crucible Industries, they have developed CPM-SPY27—a particle metallurgy stainless steel containing a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt. This remarkable composition, enhanced by the amplifying effects of cobalt and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, is produced exclusively for Spyderco and will be featured in select USA-made models. Every knife made with this steel will also have a distinctive cobalt-blue handle color that highlights its elite pedigree.

Very nice knife
This is my second Native 5. My first was a lightweight FRN model.
Both of these knives are very pocket friendly and I like them better than the PM3. They take up less space in the pocket and they are every bit as useful.
The fit and finish on both knives are excellent and the ergos are perfect. I have owned many SPYDERCO’s including the PM-2 which I believe is overrated. The handle to blade ratio is terrible. For me the Native 5 is just the right size.
The only thing missing is I wish they would make it with a compression lock. Even the Lil Native has one! The Knife Center have excellent prices and they have fast shipping.
