The Native 5 Lightweight is one of Spyderco's all-time great designs, now made even better with lightweight FRN handles and premium S30V cutlery steel. Created with the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, this super steel offers greater performance than traditionally made steels.
The leaf shaped blade of the Native 5 features a full flat grind (preferred by many for its slicing performance) and a full length swedge to aid in cutting efficiency by reducing drag during use. It opens easily thanks to Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole, and a strong back lock keeps it secure during use.
To ensure easy carry of this superlative EDC knife, Spyderco has equipped the Native 5 with lightweight and strong FRN handles. Bi-directional texturing provides all the grip you need, even in wet or grimy environments. Thanks to jimping and an integrated finger choil that extends usable handle length, the user can choke up on the blade for fine control of the Native's acute point. A four-position stainless steel clip, allowing for a multitude of carry options completes this lightweight Spyderco Native 5.

A nylon polymer that is lightweight and extremely durable, Zytel can be shaped and textured to provide excellent grip.

Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
S30V Stainless Steel
This incredibly popular stainless steel is one of the first powder-metal alloys developed specifically for use in cutlery. Thanks to its ability to hold an edge it remains a performance benchmark.
Lockback
The lockback system has been used for many decades. It can usually be found on the knife spine and it provides a strong lockup that will wear well.

Glad I have this one
I have a Native Chief also and like the Native series knifes. This is the smallest knife I have and sometimes only a smaller knife will do and for me, this is the one. I want to get another #5 but am waiting for the right steel that I want. If you find one in the steel you like, get it now. They are very user friendly and work great for most types of chores IMO.

This is the 2nd Native 5 I've owned and love them. The S30V blade stays sharp very well. Fit and finish is as good as you could ask for, blade is dead center. The jimping on the spine and finger choil is perfectly grippy. It locks up ROCK SOLID too, no play in any direction. Bi-directional checkering on the handle is nice too, makes it very easy to grab out of your pocket. Typical Golden Colorado quality (very good).
